Can I have online and app-based subscription services funded through my NDIS plan?

At Aspect Plan Management, our participants often ask us questions about what can be funded through their NDIS plans.

Recently there has been increased interest and recommendations for online and app-based subscriptions services to aid in therapy progression such as speech apps or mental health related services online.

These are likely to be funded by NDIS if these subscriptions are:

  • Supported with a letter of recommendation from an allied health professional, and
  • Value for money in comparison with different support options, and
  • Approved through an LAC/Planner if the reasonable and necessary criteria has been met.

Apps can also be included in your plan at the time of review/establishment with supporting documentation.

If your allied health supports are recommending an app for you, your plan manager can assist you to contact your LAC/Planner to get this approved and funded. The NDIS will not fund a gift card or iTunes voucher for these apps but can arranged reimbursements to you for approved products.

Aspect Plan Management’s reimbursements are quick and easy to receive. They are processed within one business day for approved purchases. If you have any questions about this type of support or your options, you can contact us on 1300 770 986, via our email [email protected] or through our online contact form https://aspectndis.com.au/contact/
