Typical questions asked of us as NDIS plan managers.

Typical questions asked of us as NDIS plan managers.

Our plan manager Mary explores some of the common questions asked. Firstly, lets get to know Mary.

What does a plan manager do?

A Plan Manager is responsible for managing your NDIS funds and making sure that you are getting the most out of the funds you have been allocated.

What do you enjoy as a plan manager?

Getting to interact with all the lovely people that we have onboard with us here. It brightens my day, making it easier for us to communicate and work things out.

Can I buy a phone (iPhone), tablet (iPad) or laptop with my NDIS plan?

The NDIS will not fund phones as this is considered as everyday expense but for assistive technology like iPads and laptops, you can fund up to $750 with a letter of support.

Can I have memberships and subscriptions (like swimming lessons) with my NDIS plan?

Unfortunately, the NDIS will not fund memberships or swimming lessons, but there may be alternatives depending on the situation. Never hurts to ask.

[Check with your plan manager, support coordinator or LAC if your memberships and subscriptions can be funded.]

Can I buy toys and weighted blankets with my NDIS plan?

There are some toys that the NDIS will allow but weighted blanket is a big no – no as they are considered a high risk by the NDIS and they will not fund them.

[Check with your plan manager, support coordinator or LAC if a risk assessment submitted to the NDIS for consider would assist.]
